What we do
An Occupational therapist as someone who “helps people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Common occupational therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, injury rehabilitation, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.”
Movement Analysis & Rehab
How we move is a result of learned movement patterns, our injury history, medical history and our state of mind and emotions.
During a movement analysis and rehab session, a detailed assessment will be made of the way you naturally move, making note of the compensations preventing you from moving efficiently and freely.
Treatment is designed to tap in to your body’s natural default reflex patterns, restoring freedom of movement, relief from tension and muscular pain, improved performance and increased vitality.
This treatment is suitable for injury rehabilitation and prevention, performance enhancement and relief of pain.
We use a carefully chosen range of individually tailored treatments to ease your pain, reduce healing time and get you back to your personal best. A thorough assessment by our expert physiotherapists will identify key problem areas for improvement. This will ensure that you return not only to full health but also increase your potential, whether in life or sport. We will also provide you with everything you need to help you manage your injury and prevent recurrence.

Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine that treats the whole body and strengthens your body’s natural ability to heal itself. Osteopaths treat mechanical problems and musculoskeletal pain and injury relating to work, sports and ageing. Our osteopaths are skilled in physical and postural evaluation, to effectively diagnose and treat your condition. We will prepare an individualised plan for you, involving a combination of exercise, advice and treatment to improve your level of health and wellbeing.
The World Health Organisation approves the use of acupuncture in over 25 conditions, ranging from rheumatoid arthritis to sciatica. Our acupuncturists assess patterns of imbalance in the body in order to identify the most appropriate treatment of your symptoms. We pride ourselves in treating a wide variety of conditions, including anxiety, cancer support, digestion and musculoskeletal issues. By addressing the body’s overall health, this will not only improve your specific symptoms, but will help prevent any recurrence.
Our Clinical Nutritionist will guide you towards optimal health using a functional medicine approach. We view each individual as unique, always looking to find the root cause of the condition rather than just treating the symptoms. Nutritional Therapy highlights the importance of a healthy and balanced diet that will not only help you regain your vitality but give you a greater understanding of how your body works.
From improving digestive disorders to reducing stress/fatigue and weight management, you would be surprised what Nutritional Therapy can do for you!
The central benefit of massage therapy is the ability of the body to heal itself, and while it plays a key part in overall wellbeing, it is also important for your rehabilitation and injury prevention. Agata Nowak, our expert massage therapist, works closely with our other BodyMed Practitioners to speed up and improve patient outcome.
Massage therapy aids relief of acute and chronic conditions, including joint flexibility, circulation, low immunity, lymphatic drainage, muscular tension, and stress. Massage therapy also reduces post-surgery adhesions and swelling, and releases endorphins, your body’s natural pain killer.
Strength & Conditioning
Strength and Conditioning can significantly develop athletic performance and help achieve optimum ability, irrespective of what activity you undertake or sport you play. Our qualified physiotherapists will assess your proficiency to perform particular movements, examine your overall fitness, and then prepare a personalized programme of exercise that will allow you to undertake with greater ease your chosen activity or sport. Strength and Conditioning also acts as a stamina builder and protection against injury.
At BodyMed, the health of the whole family is important to us. Our osteopaths treat newborns and infants experiencing digestive or other health concerns. They also successfully handle developmental issues throughout childhood and beyond. Our physiotherapists specialize in treating children from 11 years onwards who may have either sports injuries, problems with their feet (treated by our podiatrist) or postural complications (treated by our Physiotherapy Schroth expert). We plan to further develop our pediatric service to include children with neurological and other developmental issues, so please visit our website and our Facebook page for updates.
