As the founder of BodyMed, Kathy Kavanagh’s goal was to bring together a team of expert therapists to work in collaboration, putting patients at the heart of our service – and this initiative has led to a practice with 14 staff, serving over 2,000 clients in just under 2 years.
Prior to forming BodyMed, Kathy studied physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University, graduating in 1999 with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy (First Degree Honours). From 2003-2004, Kathy completed an MSc (Hons) in Sports Physiotherapy & Manipulations, University College London. Kathy subsequently worked in numerous sports physiotherapy clinics, O’Neill’s Sports Clinic UCD (University College Dublin), Dublin Spine & Physiotherapy Clinic, and has held senior posts at St Vincent’s Hospital and The Beacon Hospital, Dublin.
Today, as Managing Director, Kathy is proud of her BodyMed team and the success they have achieved in delivering excellent therapy solutions. She continues to invest in the latest staff training and patient treatment techniques and equipment.
Kathy’s specialist areas: physiotherapy, scoliosis, orthotics, laser bike fitting, dry needling.
“I have seen Kathy several times, and she is the best physio I have been to. Friendly, upbeat, interested in getting to the bottom of the problem and following up. BodyMed is also a very convenient location for parking and the DART. Highly recommended.”
Catherine, Bray (early 50s, swimming, walking, gardening)
“I received excellent treatment for chronic, stubborn back and hip pain that other practitioners had been unable to successfully treat. Kathy takes a full biomechanical view of the problem, not just treating the symptom, but also the causes. Excellent value, too.”
Donal, Clontarf (40s, active gym-goer, sailing enthusiast)
