Ankle sprain
An ankle sprain is an injury to the ligaments surrounding the ankle, which may result in inflammation, swelling, pain and a decreased movement. Sprains are usually caused by twisting, turning and rolling of the foot.
Once acute symptoms have been managed, further rehabilitation may include regaining ankle strength and flexibility and improving balance and agility to prevent further injury.
